Mr. Sherwin

If you weren't currently teaching, what would you be doing?

“Subbing for Chico Unified while I finish my credential.  That or playing Tight End for the 49ers...in my dreams.”

What aspect of LOHS are you looking forward to most?

“Campus beautification jobs with my students and knowing that for them, they are doing important jobs to improve LOHS's campus.”

What made you decide that you want to work at LOHS?

“The potential for the class that I would be teaching.  I love spending half the day out working and the other half teaching my crew important life skills.

What word describes you best and why?

“Mellow.  Nothing really gets me mad. Except slow drivers on HWY 99!”

Do you have an unique hobbies?

“I live for Olympic style weightlifting!  Been doing it for four years and some days the thought of training at the end of the day is the only thing that gets me through a hectic day.  Gotta love power cleans!”

What kind of student were you in high school?

“Honestly, school was more of a social time for me.  I did enough to get decent grades and the rest of my time was spent hanging with friends and playing sports throughout the school year.”

Is there anything you want LOHS to know about you?

“I may not teach general ed so I won't have 99% of you as a student ever, but don't be hesitant to say hi or to introduce yourself.  I like working for a smaller school and want to meet the general population.”

What is your biggest pet peeve?

“Students being on their phones.  I hate to give a back in my day lecture but I didn't have a cell phone until I was 20 and only about 30 students in my entire school of 1,200 had a cell phone while I was in high school.  Technology sure consumes students these days.”
